Since its founding in 1997, the residency at 275 Greenwich, Tribeca, New York City, has evolved into a living gallery of South African contemporary art. My work, "Foreshadowing Life Esidimeni (Zulu for dignity): Altering Hierarchy of Needs" (2024), is now permanently installed within the Ampersand Foundation Collection of Jack Ginsberg. It sits in a continuous, living dialogue with past Ampersand Fellows—including Willem Boshoff, Johan Thom, Wim Botha, Gordon Froud, and Diane Victor—marking the ongoing legacy of South African voices in the heart of Tribeca.
